Head Coach, Sue Mangan

Sue Mangan has thirty-five years of experience in the sport of swimming. For the past three years, Coach Mangan has served as the Head Coach of the Columbia Masters Day Program. With her continual focus on development of strokes, her USMS swimmers have achieved several Top-10 national rankings, competed in regional and national triathlons including IRONMAN and the Chesapeake Bay Swim.

Prior to coaching masters, Coach Mangan helped build one of the area's largest and strongest age-group programs -the Columbia Aquatics Association. While coaching at CAA, Coach Mangan was known for developing young athletes with outstanding strokes. With a solid foundation of mechanics, her swimmers rewrote the team record board, earned individual Maryland State Championships, and achieved USA Swimming Top-16 National Times.

At all levels of coaching Sue Mangan is known as an expert evaluator and teacher of stroke mechanics. Coach Mangan is certified by USA Swimming and holds both an ASCA Level II coaching certification and an ASCA 8-year old and younger coaching certificate. Sue holds a BS from the University of Delaware and an MBA from the University of San Diego.

Shane Wolter

Shane is the newest addition to the Columbia Master's Swimming program. He graduated Magana Cum Laude from Shippensburg University in 2010 with a degree in Criminal Justice.

Shane competitvely swam for 17 years with the Columbia Clippers, Retriever Aquatic Club, and Shippensburg University. At Shippensburg he was named to the All-PSAC team in 2010, 2009, and 2007 was conference champion in the 1650 freestyle. In 2010, he was named to the PSAC top ten winter athletes, and was also a member of the CoSIDA DII Academic All American second team.

Shane currently works in the Aquatics Department of Columbia Association.
